Dwell Free
Jira CloudRuns on AtlassianFree at any size
Time in status and lead time on every Jira issue — free, in-tenant, no setup

What it does
Dwell Free shows how long a Jira issue has spent in each workflow status, on the issue itself. It is a separate, smaller app than Dwell — not a trial of it.
Features
- Time in each status on any issue, longest first
- Lead time from creation to done
- Computed live from the changelog — no index, no setup, no trial
- Runs on Atlassian: in-tenant, zero egress
- Free at every team size
Where you’ll find it
Dwell Free installs into Jira. This is where it appears.
Issue panel
Any issue → Apps → Time in Status (Free)
The only surface this app has. Jira keeps app panels behind the Apps button until you pick one — after that it stays put.

What it does not do
Worth knowing before you install, not after.
- No project reports. Median and p85, aging work in progress, the weekly trend, the dashboard gadget and CSV export live in Dwell, the paid app.
- Not a trial. It is a separate, smaller app, and it stays free however large the team gets.
- No working-hours calendar — every duration is wall-clock.
Where your data goes
Nowhere. Dwell Free runs on Atlassian Forge and its manifest declares no external permissions and no web triggers. There is no code path that can send your data outside your Atlassian tenant — the platform enforces this, not a policy.
It reads only what these scopes allow:
| Scope | Why it is needed |
|---|---|
read:jira-work | Read issues and their change history — the only thing this app does. |
Pricing
Free at every team size.
Dwell Free is free on the Atlassian Marketplace, at every team size. Nothing is billed.
